There are media readers for the iPod Classic that will let you write directly to its hard drive. I have found one for SD, but there might be one out there that does CF also. You can get a 160GB iPod Classic for under $400 now. Way more portable than a laptop and far more capacity than an iPhone.

Is this just a combination of devices, or will it allow you to dump the contents of cf/sd cards to your iphone or ipod touch on the road? That could be a pretty killer tool when it’s impractical to lug a laptop.
